Trial Update
Just a brief update - the hospital rang yesterday and have booked me in on Monday to see one of the docs about my scan results. They’ll go over the details, I’ll have more blood tests & a contrast injected ultrasound, and then I’ll get a taxi over to St Georges in the afternoon for another echo scan and consult with the heart professor. If everything is good to go, I’ll be in on Tuesday through to Thursday morning for cycle 3 of the trial. Part of me feels upbeat at the prospect of continuing with the drug to see what else it can do - but I also feel totally worn out by it all, and the thought of going through the vein access ordeal all over again… well, I have no words for that.
At least my news on Tuesday was a way of digging myself out of the deep hole of depression I was experiencing on Monday. I’m at the hospice tomorrow, so I’m sure that’ll do me the world of good too. For now, it’s time to recover.
